Experiencing Lags in Dead Rising Remaster PC—Any Fixes?
Dead Rising Remaster, a fan-favorite in the zombie survival genre, lets players take control of Frank West as he navigates a mall teeming with undead. The remaster version, released in 2016, brought the classic to PC with improved visuals and a smoother gameplay experience. The game’s core mechanics—such as weapon crafting, strategic combat, and exploration—remain engaging, but some players have reported issues with lagging and poor performance on the PC version.
Dead Rising Remaster has enjoyed a healthy player base, with over 2 million downloads on Steam and a positive rating of 85%. However, a number of players have encountered frame drops, stuttering, and performance dips, especially when large groups of zombies are on screen or when certain in-game events occur.
If you’re struggling with lag, there are a few fixes worth trying:
- Update your drivers – Ensure your GPU drivers are up-to-date.
- Adjust graphics settings – Lower settings, such as shadows, textures, and anti-aliasing, can ease the load on your system.
- Disable background programs – Close any unnecessary applications consuming CPU and RAM resources.
- Check game files – Verifying the integrity of game files via Steam can fix corrupted files.
Has anyone else experienced these lag issues, and if so, what solutions worked for you? Let’s share tips to get Dead Rising Remaster running smoothly again!

I had to roll back to an earlier GPU driver version. After updating, the lag got worse, and the rollback fixed it.
