Q:

Is Black Myth: Wukong the Next Must-Play Action RPG of the Year?

Black Myth: Wukong is shaping up to be one of the most exciting mythical action RPGs in recent memory. Based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West, this game lets you play as the Destined One—a powerful warrior with access to 72 transformations, mystical spells, and the iconic staff combat style made famous by the Monkey King.

Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game boasts cinematic visuals, challenging boss fights, and a dark, immersive fantasy world. It’s already made waves online, with over 2 million wishlist adds on Steam and growing anticipation across global gaming communities.

Some users in early test builds have flagged issues like lag, frame drops, and crashes, especially on mid-range systems. If you’re experiencing performance hiccups, try updating your GPU drivers, lowering settings like shadows and post-processing, and enabling DLSS or FSR for smoother gameplay.

With a blend of deep lore, fast-paced combat, and jaw-dropping visuals, Black Myth: Wukong could set a new benchmark in the genre.

Are you planning to play it on PC or console—and which part of the game are you most excited for: the combat, the story, or the mythical world-building?

Can we talk about the boss designs? That giant tiger demon with the chains looked like something out of a dark fantasy nightmare. Give me more of that!

Man, if this has a New Game+ mode and optional secret bosses, I’m gonna lose so many hours in it. 😅

Preinstalled and ready. I haven’t been this excited since Elden Ring dropped.

Is it coming to Steam Deck? I know it’s UE5 and all, but I’d love to take this on the go.

Reminds me a bit of Nioh mixed with Sekiro. That’s a huge compliment. I hope the parry timing is tight and satisfying.

If the enemy AI is anything like what they teased—reactive and adaptive—it’s gonna be wild. I want enemies that learn and punish mistakes, not just damage sponges.

Hope the devs add accessibility options. Stuff like remappable keys, subtitles, difficulty scaling. A game this big should be for everyone.

Playing this on an ultrawide monitor is gonna be a spiritual experience. I swear.

Day one purchase for me. There’s not enough mythical-action games out there, especially with East Asian mythology. I’m burned out on medieval knights and dragons tbh.

I’ll wait for reviews. Looks cool, but I’ve got a backlog a mile long. If it drops with performance issues, I’m skipping launch day.

Just imagine the modding scene for this game on PC. Custom skins, wild movesets, probably someone will turn Wukong into Shrek with a lightsaber.

Wasn’t expecting this level of hype from Western audiences, honestly. Shows how far global game development has come. Game Science is putting China on the map in a big way.

The soundtrack though! The teaser trailer had this mix of traditional Chinese instruments with heavy orchestration. I’m betting the audio design will be a sleeper hit.

I heard from a tech YouTuber that early builds had optimization issues. Anyone have confirmation if that’s been ironed out in the final release?.

I really hope they add DLSS 3.5 support. UE5 games can be brutal on performance, especially with Nanite and Lumen enabled. My 4070 can usually handle it, but I’m cautious
